Description: | After installing the Lucid plugin and launching 3ds max I expect to see the Toolbar on the main 3ds max toolbar. The lucid toolbar is missing. I tried this out 3ds max 2015 and 2016. I'm running windows 10. I also went through the customise feature to see if I can get it to become visible however there appeared to be no entry for the Lucid toolbar. The Lucid modifiers are however visible and can be added to primitives. |
Steps to Reproduce: | On a windows 10 pc, install the lucid plugin Launch 3ds max Check the main tool bar for the Lucid modifier toolbar >> The lucid tool bar is not present
Add a sphere to the scene Check for the lucid modifier in the modifier list >>Lucid modifier is present.
Launch the customise userinterface dialog box Check for the lucid tool bar. >>Its no where to be found |

Did you run into any errors during installation? Can you please run the installer from command line using these arguments and then post the Install.log file: start msiexec /i InstallerFileName.msi /l*v Install.log Marsel Khadiyev (Software Developer, EPHERE Inc.)

From the log this is the error preventing installation of the toolbar: "Access to the path 'C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2015\de-DE\UI\ame-dark.cuix' is denied." Is 3dsmax running during installation? Does the installer have Administrator privileges during installation? Marsel Khadiyev (Software Developer, EPHERE Inc.)

I am having the same issue. The program does have admin rights while installing. The same error turns up which ended the installation "prematurliy".

Really glad to be here! I just downloaded the updated installer and it works fine. I didn't realise the installer had been updated because the installer date and version seemed to be the same. Michael Wentworth-Bell -- Test system for Lucid: -- Portfolio - http://thelode.com.au

Bump. Any solutions for what could be wrong that I dont see the toolbar? I installed on another machine with max 2015 and it worked fine, but in max 2014 design I cannot get it to work...

Not sure if it has something to do with Max Design version. We did discover an installer bug where toolbar would only be installed on one 3dsmax if there were multiple 3dsmax versions installed on the same computer, this will be fixed in the next build. I'm having the same problem as well (I'm on 3ds Max Design 2014 x64). The toolbar didn't get installed. I could recreate the toolbar myself in the Customize User Interface dialog, but unfortunately all actions are called "Adds selected objects to Lucid simulation", so I don't know which one is which (like soft body, rigid body, fluid, etc.). It might make sense to label them differently internally. It would be even better, of course, to just have it install properly ;) |
