Problem

Description:

Our good old Physx friend that happens all the time with MassFX as well is alive and kicking in Lucid. Simulation has failed to initialize is a quasi random event, usually when the simulation becomes 'too complex' for Physx. I know this is not your fault at Ephere but it's worth reporting anyway in case something can be done into tricking Physx to believe he's a big boy who can do it.

This error is one of the reasons I hated that reactor was gone at the time, because this happens more than it should from a company as large as NVIDIA.

Steps to Reproduce:

- raise the fluid simulation resolution high enough (100 or more)

- start: failed to initialize the simulation

- lower it to a bad looking resolution: particles explode but at least didn't fail

- change the resolution again, no more particle explosion (but still fail to init above 100).

I think these are just some limitations which we are hitting with Flex. If it was guaranteed that these are concrete we could put in limits in 3dsmax to prevent users from ever trying them and thus avoid crashes. I am just not sure if it is a good idea to put such a limit first. Flex is also still not v1 so I hope NVidia will do many fixes before final version will come out.
