Hi Marsel and Lucid Beta users, -Try to change 200 objects from rigid body to cloth -Try to remove the Lucid Modifier from 200 objects -Inspect scene to see what objects have Lucid Modifiers/influence Simulation Perhaps they can all be solved with macros or maxscript. If it was implimented as a scene explorer 2.0 I imagine it wouldn't be compatible with Max 2014 and below. Michael Wentworth-Bell -- Test system for Lucid: -- Portfolio - http://thelode.com.au

The native 3ds Max implimentation allows you to open the main MassFX dialog (similar to the "lucid Flex settings"), and then make a selection of scene objects. While that selection is active, you can change massFX properties and it will propogate to all objects in the selection. I considered this before but decided to put it off until later. What can be added I think is some ability to edit settings globally, though it seems like it can be done through some other tool which is able to set settings of multiple objects in 3dsmax at the same time (like a spreadsheet editor), I think I recall a tool which can do that. Need to think the best approach to this. I can also definitely see the value of being able to select all simulated objects by their type or other criteria. Thanks Marsel, Sure it could be a Lucid 2.0 feature. I will try this with "Modifier Zorb" or "Misison Control" - i think these scripts allow mass spreadsheet style editing of selected object's properties, I haven't tried them. The main things I see a user wanting to do is remove lucid modifier from all objects (or selection). I consider myself a novice Maxscripter and can do this with a simple macro, I am just guessing some users would want this option in the scene. Rayfire has a tools sub-menu. 2 options "Clean up scene from Rayfire info". "Clean up selected from Rayfire Info".
For me - a use case was, I was testing Lucid in a scene with over a thousand objects and trying to do a simulation. I then wanted to reboot and try a new approach. But it was difficult to find out which objects still had lucid modifers applied - and if they were going to impact the new simulation.

Just a quick update. Marsel, Modifier Zorb works great. It is easy for users to mass edit, instance or remove lucid modifiers (or any modifiers. I'd never used it before!) It even seems to expose some extra properties not found in the Lucid Modifier UI? A tool like this makes a Lucid explorer or dedicated tool for editing simulation properties a much lower priority. Wow, that's great Michael. A good find, I will need to look at that in more detail and maybe create some tutorial for others. Marsel Khadiyev (Software Developer, EPHERE Inc.) |
