We are monitoring Flex library closely, so far NVidia did not provide a way to do it but clearly there is some support for it from their videos so we'll have to wait for Flex 1.0 to see. Meanwhile we are investigating other options for fire and smoke.
I understand but Nvidia PhysX Flex has posted videos on YouTube showing grid free smoke simulation since 2014. But I guess this is still in development. The videos are fantastic so when it gets here, if it is still grid free (Thinking particles has grid free fire and smoke) it will be incredible allowing an easy setup of smaller fire/smoke jobs.
