I know you can make resolution smaller so objects can touch the ground but like for solid objects when increasing particle size for faster simulation there is a big gap between an object and a surface. is there anyway to adjsut collisin tollerance and move objects closer to the surface so they are not flying over but actually touch the surface

Only way I can think of is faking it by moving the surface mesh closer to the particles or using a push modifier to increase the radius of the meshed particles/object by the threshold amount.
