Hi, Thank you for your report. Can you show me a screenshot of your modifier stack? Jeordanis Figuereo (Product Designer. EPHERE Inc.)
Hi, Here is a link to a screenshot. The setup is just based on the "fur ball" preset. I don't think the noise modifier is a specific part of the problem, just because it is clicked in this specific crash. The error happens in any situation when the fur is adjusted. https://we.tl/t-OhwZn81BQi
Hi I have now tried adding Ornatrix Fur ball setup to skinned and animated meshes of different sorts in completely different scenes and the same crash occurs as soon as i select the fur object. It has not yet crashed when I add the fur to a non skinned object and other sorts of animation seem to work (for example animating a bend or melt modifier on the original mesh). Do you have an older more fail safe version of the plugin to recommend?
SO you can reproduce it consistently. Can you share the scene with us? As well as your 3ds Max version please. Jeordanis Figuereo (Product Designer. EPHERE Inc.)
I'm using 3ds Max 2021.3.2 Security fix. Here is a new simple scene with just a mesh that has a simple skinning to some bones. Max Scene ready to add fur preset and crash when fur object is selected: https://we.tl/t-I2T8Yjm5CR

Did you include everything needed to generate the hair, like texture maps for example? There is no hair in the scene. Adding hair to P_Tereza_001 or P_Arnaud_001 doesn't cause a crash. Jeordanis Figuereo (Product Designer. EPHERE Inc.)
Here is the same file with added fur ball preset. The only difference is that when it's added the program crashes when the fur object is selected. There seems to be a randomness to the crashes, since I've had it working for some minutes at some occations. https://we.tl/t-KfKjX5QNzT
Just to follow your instructions, here is the scene archived as a zip-file with the textures etc. It is not a special scene, just a test and it happens in any scene as I understand it. The randomness doesn't make it easier to understand, even though I can be quite sure it will crash quite soon after the hair is added and I begin to work with it in any Ornatrix modifier. Most of the times it just crashes when I select the fur object. https://we.tl/t-auI2gJXvmH

We have not been able to reproduce the crash. It may be because VRay is not installed in the computer that we are testing. Are you using VRay? We get "missing OSM" on top of the hair stack. I think this is the VRay modifier. Please confirm and if so, can you test without VRay? Also, please provide us the Ox .log file that is generated after the crash. Also the .dmp file from the same location. You should find it in: `C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Temp\Ornatrix3dsMax2020.log` Jeordanis Figuereo (Product Designer. EPHERE Inc.)
It continued to crash randomly, so I switched to the 2021 May version of Ornatrix (7.2.1.27588) and so far it's running fine. I wouldn't consider this to be a fixed issue, however. Yes, I'm using Vray 5 Update 2.2 and with the fur ball preset there is a Vray modifier created on top of the stack. I guess these are the files you requested: https://we.tl/t-8kHVgpTW7c
