Problem

Description:

When exporting from Maya to unreal engine 5, I select the groom shape and press export selection. In filetype I choose Ornatrix Alembic and tick the box 'Unreal Engine Export'.

However the alembic file created has very jagged curves.

In constrast if do not tick the UE botton I get the full smooth curves.

My problem is that I need rootUV and they are only included when using UE export.Unreal Engine Export with and without check box ticked.

Steps to Reproduce:

When exporting from Maya to unreal engine 5

Select the groom shape

Press export selection.

In filetype I choose Ornatrix Alembic and tick the box 'Unreal Engine Export'.

Import the alembic file into Maya or Unreal and compare with original.

Hi,

Do you have "Use Render Version" enabled in the Export settings?

Yes I do.

I assume that you are using a Detail node to increase the point count on the strands. There you have viewport and render count. Try setting both to the same value.
