Problem

Description:

I've been trying to get the gravity and moov phyics to work for the past 3 days in the demo version.   I'm on the latest build and the gravity is sidways by defautlt and the hair bounces unconrolllably.  Ther seems to be no documentation for the latest Moov dynaics anywhere that I can see and I have no idea how to solve the problem.

Steps to Reproduce:

Just open max.  Make any object and apply moov and watch what it does.  It's an unusable mess of crazy random bouncy movement.  Ther are no forces applied.  No collision applied.  Just default settings.  Where is the latest documentation on how to properly use Moov?

Hi, DanS ( Daniel )

Charly here

Nice to meet you

Your first mistake is placing MoovPhysics above HairFromGuides. It should be placed below HairFromGuides but after Edit Guides to make the simulation run faster.

I tested it on my end using the latest StandAlone version, and everything works fine. I created a simple ball animation and recorded a video for you. I’m also will attach a scene file for 3ds Max 2025 for your tests.

One more thing, which I also demonstrated in the video: In the Time Configuration settings, you need to disable Realtime. This will make the simulation more accurate. I showed both scenarios in the video.

TIMING:

0:00 - Showing the version of Ornatrix used, as the issue was tested on the latest stable version
0:05 - Demonstrating a basic animation quickly created using MaxScript for the example
0:10 - Assigning a Furball
0:16 - Selecting Edit Guides and applying MoovPhysics
0:20 - Highlighting that the modifier is placed after Edit Guides but under HairFromGuides
0:23 - Testing the simulation. It works relatively well, but there are occasional issues like stretching. A user on the forum reported that hair stretches as if there's no gravity. To fix this, Realtime needs to be turned off
0:28 - Demonstrating how to disable Realtime
0:34 - Retesting the simulation, which now works more smoothly and without errors
1:02 - Conclusion, other videos, subscribing to the channel, and checking out Artstation

Thank you and have a great day
Best regards,
Andrew.
