Title:Ornatrix 3 freezes when clicking modifier
Category:Crash/Critical

Problem

Description:

When using Ornatrix 3, latest build, any time you click an Ornatrix modifier it lags for up to 15 seconds, freezing Max.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Create panel -> make a box

2. Ornatrix -> Add Hair to Selection: hair is added instantly

3. Click Modify Panel: Max freezes for 10 seconds

4. Click off the object then click it again: Max freezes for another 10 seconds

This makes it frustratingly slow to work with Ornatrix.  License is floating on a networked machine, it seems like maybe that's the hang up?

Could be related to licensing, yes. It does check every time Max opens Ox's UI so that would be consistent with that. I will do some checking.

Thanks Marsel, much appreciated.

Morning sir,

Any word on this? We've got quite a bit of cougar fur to do over the coming weeks, it'd be great to skip the slowdown.

Thanks!

Hello,

Not yet but it is close on my TODO. I am still not convinced how to best get around it on my end. Can you tell me which Max version (and bitness) you're using btw?

Thanks for the update.  We're using Max 2014 (16.0 SP3) currently, which is where we're experiencing the slow-down.  However, I tried it with Max 2015 this afternoon and it's quick and responsive there... makes no sense, computers...

I'm going to try to push through the upgrade before we get too deep in this job; that will seemingly address this issue for us and hopefully save you some time.  Apologies for the noise, I'll let you know if the issue resurfaces.

Thanks as always for the quick response :)

Spoke too soon.. issue still there in Max 2015.  The license check just seems really slow, I feel like if it was faster the stall wouldn't be so noticeable / annoying.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Can you please provide an email address where I can send a custom build for you to test?

Thanks

Sure, you can send it to grant@ievfx.com

Done, please check it
