Problem

Description:

Hello,

I get always the same problem on various mesh.

Here is my procedure :

1) I collapse hairs to OX Baked Hair from OX Hair from Guides (or OX Guides from Surface)

2) Set up Distribution Surface in OX Baked Hair (original surface)

3) Sinks in OX Surface Comb are always flipped

This caused me to need to recreate sinks from scratch, or move each sink in oposite direction. There is a lot of OX hairs on meshes = a lot of useless work :)

I need to bake hairs this way, because renderfarm nodes (rebusfarm) are not preserving the hair root position on mesh(also when Remeber root position is activated). Result is flickering hairs in animation.

Is there any way how to solve this problem?

Thanks for answers.

Marcel

Just tries reproducing it here but it seems to work OK.

Could you provide a scene that we can bake the guides on and see the issue you are having?

Thanks

Michael

Hello,

I found the source of problem and solution.

There is morpher on hair object with morph target, targeted to the model with skin wrap. (yes, it is a little bit complicated)

Skin wrap is the troublemaker in this case. Solution is to add edit poly over the skin wrap, and the sinks were flipped back to normal orientation after baking hairs. Don't know why, but it is working.

Btw, would it be possible to add abillity to flip sinks or to enable negative value for sink Weight?  (if this way with edit poly didn't work)

Best,

Marcel
