Problem

Description:

Hello !

We have some real trouble that we can't fixe with hair clustering.

It looks like the clusters are re-evaluate for each frame on an animated mesh.

Here's a folder with simple scene : http://pingus.tatprod.com/BUG/Ornatrix/Ox_Cluster/

sphere.max is a simple animated sphere with basic hair + clusters.  (max 2016, vray 3.3.04, Ox 4.2.1.6873 )

Ox_sphere.avi is the result render over renderfarm.

and Ox_cluster_bug video are some preview of our character.

Is the flow correct or we missunderstand something ?

Thanks

Steps to Reproduce:

Thank you for the scene and videos, looking into it...

I fixed some things. Please try the latest nightly build (6917+)

When trying nightly like that, do i need to deploy the version on renderNode or only on the workstation is enough ?

I'm on it btw, thanks for reactivity.

So after a quick test looks like it's working in rendering (local upgraded & renderfarm not upgraded) but in viewport i still got my cluster poping.

Do you get the popping in viewport from the same scene you sent? Because for me it no longer reproduces.

Marsel Khadiyev (Software Developer, EPHERE Inc.)

Yes, i've reopenned my scene  : http://pingus.tatprod.com/BUG/Ornatrix/Ox_Cluster/Sphere_nightly.avi

Tryed to remake the scene from scratch, but same thing.

Wait. I've just only have access to the 4.2.1.6913 and not 4.2.1.6917.

Indeed, seems like the latest build didn't pass all the tests. I'll look into that.

Marsel Khadiyev (Software Developer, EPHERE Inc.)

New nightly is now up, please give it a go

Marsel Khadiyev (Software Developer, EPHERE Inc.)

Seems working for me too.
I've upgrad only workstations with nightly and render on farm with lastest stable.

Looks like it also fixed the "sticky fur" bug, also visible on video http://pingus.tatprod.com/BUG/Ornatrix/Ox_Cluster/Ox_Cluster_bug.avi  (under arms, between legs, end of fingers...)

It's all goods !

Thanks a lot for support.
