Danny	Basically just exit the roots mode of the modifier to select something different. Just tried and it did it again. I uploaded a test scene. If you just plant a guide then click the plant button again it crashes. At least for me. Attached Files: plant_root_test_scene.max (290816 bytes),

Danny	Looks like you're doing it right. I do notice you're using Max 2016. Can you try it in 2015? Maybe that's the difference.

Description:	I'm not able to plant guides on a mesh without crashing the Max file. Using Max 2015 and latest build of OX 4. It's very simple to reproduce so I can create a test file for you if it works on your end.
Steps to Reproduce:	Create a sphere Convert to Editable Mesh Add OX Hair from Surface mod Add OX Edit Guides Plant a new guide Exit modifier
