Problem

Description:

Hi,

I'm trying to set the rest shape of my Hair with Onatrix for Maya. Sadly I can't set the restshape of the cloth object when the hair settles. When skipping back to first frame the hair jumps to the Ornatrics strands again. I'm using Maya 2016 Servicepack 6, Extension 1

Steps to Reproduce:

The workflow as described in:

Thank you for the report, we will investigate it.

Hi Marcus, the way to do that in a 'normal' scene would be to select the mesh being attached to nCloth and then Fields/Solvers->Initial State->Set for selected. However, this won't work in our case, since the mesh that nCloth is attached to is dynamically generated by the MeshFromStrands operator. The way to do it in this case is to directly invoke the command:

nBase -e -stuffStart nClothShape1;

Check the ornatrix stack for the name of your cloth shape and replace accordingly, but if you have one hair stack, it would be the same.

Hope that helps.

Emil.
