Hi Maddy,

It sounds like a transformation problem. Can I see a screenshot of the modifier stack and the hair itself?

Hi Maddy,

Did you changes the geometry after creating the hair?  changing the topology after the hair is generated will the stack and the hair generation.

Hi!

I am using Ornatrix 5.0.7.9756 3ds max 2017, win 7 x64

And I have the same kind problem. Just saving my scene and reopening it mess up the guides. I didn't started animating anything. I have a edit poly with a turbosmooth and then applied all my ornatrix stuff. I created a nice groom with  many modifier. I saved my scene many times at different stpes yesterday night. But this morning I open all my scenes and they are all messed up.

I didn't change anything after opening the scene. Just saving and reopening messed up the guides. And my groom is made f 3 different parts, only one part is messed up. The 2 others ones are ok.

You can see what happen:

Hi Strob,

Trying using Remember Clusters in the Strand Clustering modifiers.

Hi Jeordanis and thank for the quick reply. But there is no Remeber Cluster in the strand clustering modifier. There is on eonly in the Hair Clustering modifier. I added one and will try that. but what if I animate the hair?

Hi Jeordanis, I used the remember cluster and redo my whole groom and then I had to make some change to my UVs and my groom looks ok in the viewport but it is messed up at render time. Do you have any ideas?

Finally I tried many different thigns and the render time groom was always messed up. so i saved my scene and reopened it and boom the render time groom was fixed.

I'm glad you found a workaround. You are supuse to use Remember Clusters after you set all your parameters in the Clusters modifiers, this way you have consistent results across renders and render nodes. Sometimes reloading the scene or changing the distribution method can fix those issues.

Ok thanks. But is it normal that I don't have a remember cluster for the Strand Cluster modifier?

I see here the notes about why the guidees can becomes messed up after  opening a file. So my turbosmooth was really the culprit.

Hi Strob,

My mistake, you are correct, the Remembe Cluster option is in the Hair Clustering modifier only.
