Problem

Description:

I have a problem rendering an animated sequence where the hair are flickering because some hair change position slightly. I tried pressing remmber root on the hair from guide and rember cluster on the hair cluster but it does not work.

My hair are fixed on a cat rig. But it's a robot so there is no deforming mesh.

Steps to Reproduce:

here are 3 subsequent frames where you can see the hair flickering

Hi Jocelyn,

Can you try Remember Root on Guides From Surface? (If you are using one).

Yes that's what I tried.

But I just saw on another thread that if we make any change, we must uncheck rember root, render a frame and then recheck remmber root and then we can send to the farm? Is that true? Anyway I will try it now.

Yes, you should use Remember Root on Guides from Surface AND Hair from Guides and Remember Cluster when you have the final settings.

ok thanks I will try that!

So i tried it and it does not work. It's still flickering the same...

Isn't there any way to just bake the result and make sure it will not flicker on the farm?

And  I mean the hair, not just the guide?

You had flikering issues in the past, I will pass this thread to Marsel, he might be able to help you better.

Ok thanks Jeordanis, I'n in contact with Marsel. Now I am rendering a region without the hair clustering to see how it goes.

Finally that was the twist in my strand clustering that was causing the flickering. I just removed the twist for now.

Good to know you have found the cause of this issue.
