Problem

Hi, I have installed the last version of Ornatrix for 3sd max 2018 and brushes did not work in any view, then I did a clean uninstall and tried installing it manually, but still the brushes didn't work. 

Steps to Reproduce:

I tried installing both with the installer and manually the following versions ( with clean uninstalls ):

5.2.5.12692 [Latest Stable]
5.2.5.12864 [Nightly]
5.2.4.12500
5.2.3.12328

For the ones in bold the brushes didn't work, only the scisors. For the other ones I couldn't even try as the toolbar didn't show up, nor using the "OxAddToolbar()" command to make it appear.

That's really strange, I just tried with 5.2.5.12864 [Nightly] and all brushes are working fine. Are you getting any error?

No I don't get any error, I just try to use the brushes but it just doesn't work, doesn't matter what view I use.

It seems like the plugin is not loading correctly, unfortunatelly I cannot reproduce this here. Do you think you can upload a video showing the steps needed to reproduce this issue? Though it does not seems like you are doing anything special. Maybe a screenshot of your hairstack will be enough.

Btw, the problems of the tool bar not showing in Max 2018 has been fixed a couple of weeks ago. This should be fixed in the latest builds.

Hi Jeordanis, yeah in the latests versions I was able to see the toolbar, just had this problem on older ones.

I just tried again in update 3, it's working fine. We would like some more information. Which viewport display driver are they using DirectX, OpenGL, Nitrous, etc? We noticed that when you add the hair preset the hair is very short, how big is you scene scale? Please share this scene if you can.

Thank you. Actually the brushes are working on your scene, the problem is your sphere is too big (4060.842 cm). The brush is moving the hair but is too little to be noticeable due to the low strength of the brush.

Ah I see, yeah it was a bit big. Now I tested with a smaller one, I used the sphere provided in the example files of  Andrew Kribulya's tutorials, and this time I set strenght to 10, but brushes keep working the same way, them seem to not work. Try creating a sphere from scrath in a new scene, uses a scale similar to a character head or an animal body, You will see it works well. Anyway, the brush scalling have been twaked in build 12892, please give it a try. Brush at strength 1 is much stronger, so it may need to be reduced.

I have tried creating new spheres from scrath with character head's size... also I have tried it in different busts and it doesn't work. Will try with 12892 build when its available, will it be released today ?

This is really strange. I created a regular sized sphere in your scene and it does work fine. The problem is only present in the sphere you created, and as I mentioned before, the problem is that the sphere is too big for the strenth of the brush to handle. The build will be online tomorrow probably.
