STRAND OPERATORS Ornatrix defines strands to be either guide or dense hair. In either case they are curves that define the actual hair fibres. There may be different number of strands depending on some condition in your scene. For example, during a render you might get a lot more hair than when using viewport preview. That is why it is important to have modifiers that operate on hair without depending too much on its topology. Like deformer modifiers for arbitrary meshes (think FFD and bend), Ornatrix presents a set of modifiers that can be used on hair of arbitrary detail and arbitrary topology. These operators procedurally transform hair and guide objects for the purpose of simulating real-life phenomena that is experienced by strand-based objects. Aside from being able to use Ornatrix-based modifiers on strands, you are able to use any other 3dsmax modifier that processes deformable objects. Some examples of these modifiers include Noise, Bend, Skin, Morph, and Flex. |
