Is there a way to have different Moov physics per guide group? I was looking to have different stiffness for my groups from the edit guides.

Hello,

Yes, Moov Physics modifier have a Strand Group field where you can enter the strand group that you want to be affected by the modifier.

In the 3ds max moov physics modifier I only see the root channels. Is that the same as strand groups? When I make their own root channels and select them the physics modifier I dont see a change. Am I missing something?

My bad, Moov physics does not have a Strand Groups field just yet.

Roots Channels are designed to isolate some parameters to painted strands or strand vertices. For example, if you select some strands, create a strand channel and paint them white, the parameter where you apply this channel will only affect the white guides. Find more about strand channels here: https://ephere.com/plugins/autodesk/max/ornatrix/docs/6/Guide_Channels.html

In Moov Physics you can mask out a few parameters using strand channels, but you cannot mask out the whole modifier. You can paint a strand channel to control the Mass, Stiffness, Force fields, etc.

Thank you.

I'm really impressed with the new Moov physics, but I have a similar situation where I need portions of the groom to act with different parameters. I have attempted to use the strand channels to get some localised contrl but I cannot seem to get it to work.

Is there any way you could demonstrate an example where the hair on an object reacts to the moov physics but a portion much less so? I just can't get my head around it.
