I keep finding that the Clump modifier will (seemingly randomly) produce errors, with large stretching sections of hair between points. These errors will often dissapear when I click off and back onto the modifier, or change a single parameter. However, they are still present when rendering an animated sequence.
I've tried using the guides for the clumping and random, but it still occurs. |
| Hello, I have seen this bug before but only with the old HairClustering modifier, I cannot reproduce the issue with the new Clump Modifier. Would be possible to get a stripped down version of the problematic scene for testing? Jeordanis Figuereo (Product Designer. EPHERE Inc.) |
| I'll see if I can condense the scene down and send it over. I managed to do a quick fix on the problem by checking "Attract To Closest Point", but I have to check it on a frame where the character has their arms and legs far apart or there are errors.
It does randomly come back though.

| I'm still having problems with this. Did the max file I sent help at all? |
| Hello, I detected a couple issues and we are looking into them. I will keep you posted. Jeordanis Figuereo (Product Designer. EPHERE Inc.) |
| asked myself what ever came out here.. |
| Please try the latest build available if you are experiencing the same issue. Jeordanis Figuereo (Product Designer. EPHERE Inc.) |
| Hi everybody, sorry to reply to this old post but even when using the last build of Ornatrix I'm still getting this bug too, randomly when using the Clump modifier. Will there be a fix one day? Thanks |
| Hi, Are you able to prepare a simplified version of your scene and send it to us for debugging? I cannot reproduce this anymore. Are you using Ornatrix V7? Jeordanis Figuereo (Product Designer. EPHERE Inc.) |
| Hi! I'll send you a simplified version of my scene as soon as I'll find time to create one! |
| Hi everybody,
After some investigations I noticed the issue may come from the fact that "Use UV Space" is not checked. By turning ON this option and creating the clump again it should work as explained in the pictures below. This is so obvious now I'm thinking about it.
I replicated a low poly legs situation, a cylinder bent with 2 bones using a skin modifier, I then rotated one of the bones 90°:
