Hello Everyone! I'm setting up a scene for rendering that is about 200 frames, for an animal with Fur, for a single animal in the scene its working fine with the viewport. and even rendering in 15-20 min on CPU render. with a pretty heavy environemt. whenever trying to add extra goat that has a different animation. render freeze at transforming vertices, but software is not freezing.

Whenever i remove the hair modifiers render runs perfectly smooth with even more than 7 animals in the scene.

I'm Using, 3Ds Max 2021, Vray 5, on AMD Threadripper 64 cores, 2080 Ti GPU & 256 GB of RAM

Please help me!

Hi,

Hmm, this is a tricky one. Can you try to reproduce it in a simpler scenario?

Try adding two fur balls to a sphere with a hair amount similar to the two animals. Also, add some vertex deformation to the spheres. Render and see what happens.

Are you rendering on a render farm? Do you see any warning or error message pop up in the render log or Max script?

Hi Jeordanis, thank you for your response.

Actually a few spheres working fine now as im testing it. Tried to bake the animation exported a file of 250 GB which is crazy high to manage

is there any other trick to try ?

Unfortunately baking animations will produce big files, of course, depending on the complexity of the groom.

Maybe the issue is that yours system runs out of RAM. Check the memory usage while rendering both animals.

Also, try collapsing the stack instead of baking the hair to an external file.
