OxDynamics Problems.

Hello,
I'm working on a character with fur using ornatrix, and I'm having trouble with Ox Dynamics.

Its a 160 cm tall bear as a single mesh, fur added with Ox Guides from Surface (1500 root count). Is there more up to date documentation available?

I've ran into some questions, such as:

How is global scale calculated? I've tried values from 0.1 to 1000 but it doesnt seem to have any effect. How about global mass? Also, is there a parameter (or modifier) similar to hairfx "hardness" or 3dsmax hair and fur "stiffness" or what combination of parameters should I use to achieve that?
Finally, sometimes it crashes (giving me different errors every time) even if it was able to simulate the exact same scene earlier with the exact same settings.

Any help (or tutorial/demo scene) would be appreciated.
Thanx

Hello,

This page in the docs talks about scale and other dynamic values. What version of Max are you on? We have worked a lot on dynamics in the latest OX beta for 2013. I would recommend working with that.

Thanks

Hello,

I use the latest Ox for  2013,  I'm having trouble with Ox Dynamics. too.

I want to make the horse's mane and tail with  using ornatrix.

1.Problems arised when i simulated Ox Dynamics when making horse tail.During simulation,  poped out many times “Unknown system exception”.

2. Every time I give a shape to the hair, but Ox Dynamics  simulated is ugly, or can't simulate.I have to reset a scene can continue to calculate.

3. Sometimes I changed the parameters in Ox Dynamics, which had no effect on the hair simulation.

your  quick reply will be highly appreciated.

Thanks

mi

i suggest you to check this method also

for the errors of oxDynamics modifier you should check the manual.

Hello,

I am very thankful for your rapid reply.

The tutorial you sent to us we have learned before. This is not very beneficial to me.

After two questions still exist.

I would also check out the first dynamics video here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h0U0rC53qXQ&feature=c4-overview&list=UUzzR4qt--4OcXgvyUTsgW6w

It goes over some of this issues you have like the MassFX script error and how to avoid it by having Dynamics at the top of the stack. Also check your scene size and scale. You can use MassFX visualization to see if your collision sizes are off. They can be adjusted with Wisp Size if they are very large or small.

Hope that helps

Thanks

Michael
