I have my hair looking the way i want, but the only way to export the hair as geo is by adding a Mesh from Strands modifier on top, but using the the Prismatic/Cylindrical or Flat Billboards completely wrecks the way my shader looks.

How can i export hair cached as geo without using mesh from strands on it?

Mesh from Strands is the only way to convert Ornatrix hair to polygons. Perhaps for the shader to look correct you have to set up the UVs of the hair in Mesh from Strands. Try using Per-Strands UVs for the UV generation method.

I'm afraid that does nothing. Are there any out of the ordinary techniques that can export the hair as geo without Mesh from Strands?

Do you mean that changing the UV settings doesn't work or that it doesn't render the hair as you expect?

Changing the UV settings does nothing and the hair still renders badly. I am on the final stage on this project with the hair looking perfect but i cannot get it to look the same as it was before Mesh to Strands is applied. I need it to become geo because i can then loop the hair animation, but at the moment, that comes at the cost of it looking completely different in the render
