Ox Dynamics doesn't work

Hi, I have imported my OBJ mesh from zBrush, it has UVs and it's a editable mesh.
I click on it and then go on Ornatrix -> Add hair to selection, then after Ox Edit Guides I add a Ox Dynamics modifier. Then I ope up the MassFX toolbar and click Play, but the guides don't move at all, I can see the timebar moving but the symulation won't start.

I tryied the same on different models, same result, the symulation doesn't start.
However, if I try it on a sphere, it works! Why?? Am I missing something?

Please help!

 

 

I did an experiment:
- created a sphere into 3DS Max, applyed hair, and OX Dynamics. It works.

- exported the sphere as OBJ, imported into zBrush, and exported again in OBJ.

- imported the new OBJ into 3DS Max and applyed same hair and OX Dynamics: IT DOESN'T WORK ANYMORE!

Why??? what's the difference between creating an object in Max and import one from an OBJ?!

This is likely do to some strange scaling that Zbrush is doing you could try to reset the Xform on the mesh. Dynamics is always very scale dependent and with MassFX that is especially true. If you can post the simple sphere I will be happy to take a peek.

Hy Michael,

I did more tests. and it's not zBrush fault. I tried to export in OBJ from Max, and re-import immediately the same OBJ, without touching it, same result.

If I export the object in FBX it works, so it's obvious that something gets lost when the OBJ is exported/imported.

Anyway, after I tried MassFX I realize that it's too rudimental for what I need, so I'm gonna test cloth now, as it seems more suitable for realistic hair behaviours.
