Hey guys,

sorry if i'm mixing topics here and most likely duplicating some already existing ones, but i'm new to Ox and am on a tight time frame for a project and would love some tips over the specifics:

I have 4 simple bunny chahacters in my scene dancing at quite a fast tempo, simple motion though, on which i apply Ox mods for fur.

Is it possible/recommended to instance most Ox modifier (except for Dynamics) so i can apply the same brushing/combing/lenght and so on to all of them at once?

Also, i'm planning to render this out with Vray and GI (Animation prepass and so on) and most likely a bit of ambient occlusion. Any known issues or tips would be welcome.

Thank you.

A.

Hi Adriano,

Instancing is something that can pretty easily be done with parametric modifiers such as Curling or Friz. You can Copy these modifiers and Paste Instanced to your other character.

If you want to instance the entire stack the second mesh needs to be exactly the same. For this you can instance both the hair and emitter object.

If you have another character that is similar but not exactly the same topology you can back out your guides by collapsing the stack. Then you can copy the Baked Guides and align it with your second character. Using the Ground Strands modifier you can associate these guides with the new mesh. Then you can add your instanced modifiers on top.

Hope that helps.
