Displaced mesh vs Ox

I am running into a serious road block:

I am trying to create beard stubs so it is important that it conforms to the surface of the displaced mesh. (Plus, it is going to be animated.)

The original character mesh and the "beard mesh" both share the same topology in the face area, same displacement map and displace identically. The issue comes from the fact that the hairs does not adjust to the displaced mesh.

Am I missing something or doing something wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

(Problem was there with Ornatrix v2, updated to v3 beta and problem is the same.)

The issue here is rendertime displacement. The hairs are placed in the 3ds max session. The best thing to do would be to use the basic viewport Displace modifier for anything that affects the silhouette and then maybe a render time for fine wrinkles etc.
