Why does  the brush push the hair in the opposite direction you are trying to brush the hair?

Why does  the "push hair away from mesh" do the exact opposite?

Howdy,

Please post the scene you captured this video with and we will have a look.

Thanks

Michael

Hi Cheers for the quick reply.

This is the scene.

Is there a graphic card prefered for Ornatrix?

I have the AMD fire GL 7900 In this machine at home.
The one at work is Nvidia, It seems to work  better, although I'm doing most of the hair work at home for the moment.

Hi Are you going to reply?

R

Looks like there is some issue with the Edit Guides modifier. We will look into what that might be. If you replace Edit Guides the hair is brushing AOK for me.

I would recomend an Nvidia card. Any model that will work well with 3ds Max is good for OX.

Thanks

Michael

This means you loose all your work?

:-(

Replaced the edit guides. Same problem.

When you brush to refine the style, the hair move in the opposite direction you are brushing making it impossible with this tool to achieve a result..

Tried different brush size , strength makes no difference.

Do you have a demonstration where you use the brush to style long hair?

I would like to see how you go about creating a hairstyle from start to finish.

Has anyone else run into this issue?

Would you bother using the brush to create long hair beyond just a straight hairstyle?

Is there support with Ornatrix?

I am not able to reproduce the issue you have. When I open the file and brush it works AOK here. It might be a bad instalation possibally. Could you try to uninstall OX completely from Add Remove Programs please and then install the latest build from the site.

Thanks

Michael

Also could you tell me if you have this issue on a clean scene with a basic sphere? That could indicate if its your install or the scene itself.

Thanks

Michael

OK so I was going to suggest that you try the OX 3.0 beta and but I now see that is what your useing. It would be good to indicate that type of info for the future. That is why I needed to replace edit guides to get it working correctly for me.

With OX 3.0 beta we are doing work on the brushes. We will have a look at this brushing issue and try to fix it in the next beta build.

Thanks

Michael

Yes it does. I am going to uninstall and reinstall.

I use the web installer

After re-installing, I still have the same problem.

This is version 3

I'm going back to v 2.

OK Version 3 has the brushing issue.

Work fine in version 2

OK thanks. We will have a look at this issue in the beta and fix it.
