Hello guys this could be a basic question however i haven't been able to get a proper mapping when using OXhair map with the hue variation, please find an attached image below which would explain the issue.

Tech details: Using vray as renderer, hair is a simple hair on surface for testing purposes.

Also in your opinion are there any advatages/disadvantages for VrayHairinfotex vs OXhairmap regarding compatibility or any other such issues with Ornatrix?

Thanks.

I believe your getting this result because the Generate W Coord option needs to be checked in the Vray Ornatrix modifer. That should give you a better result.

With that said the OXHair texture woudl work OK but its not 100% supported. The Channle options Vray will have issues with. We will look into getting that part working with Vray if possible. I general I would suggest its best to use the VrayHairinfotex when using Vray.

Thanks!

Michael

Thanks Micheal for the quick feedback on this!

Yes unfortunately i have tried the w coordinates but it gives me a strange result as well, it also changes the coloration to an entirely different tone and washes it out. yes the channel options seemed unstable and were crashing vray as well.

However i will stick to using the vray info tex for now, unfortunately i will have to manually create a multilayer shader setup for it to be able to tweak the hue on such a level to get identical control and result, it will be great to have Oxhair or a similar map fully supported by vray in the future : ) thanks again!
