Can you please provide more information like which version did you install? Was it demonstration or commercial version? Did you use fast raytraycer option or vray or another renderer?
I just tried the exact steps you listed on 2014 and I cannot reproduce this. Are you using V-Ray Ornatrix modifier? Can you please list exact steps if they are not the same as your original post?
