surface comb - sinks

I tried the same method for creating sinks as the video by ephere on youtube for surface comb. It does not work as it does in the video?

When creating sinks I have a problem. After I create one sink and try to draw another one (anywhere) it just grabs the previous sinks end point. Sometimes it will not draw a sink on the surface at all. I have had the same problem with a few models.

Hello, thank you for the report.

Can you reproduce this in a blank scene? Or, if not, can you share a scene where this is happening?

Thank you

Hi, I reproduced the same on a teapot and it worked fine.I also noticed that the hair renders differently to the viewport but when I disable the surface comb its is fine. Some thing is causing a problem with the suface comb in my scene.

Can I email you my scene. I don't want to post my files on a public forum.

Ok I found the problem. It was due to the tubosmooth modifier (render iterations). They needed to be set in the viewport otherwise it gets all messed up when it renders.

Aha! Right, the topology needs to remain the same for the sinks to work properly and turbosmooth will change it.
