As archaic as Shave and a hair cut is now by comparison to this the puff from root and puff from tip options were really nice. 

I'm trying to groom something someone else has already started...there seem to be a lot of kinks at the root that I'd like to smooth out. To add a puff from root/tip modfier would work really well on this. I'm trying to brush them out but that's changing the groom quite a bit. Push away from mesh does work but it's not a gradual raise...it pushs it straight out almost like a push operator...in some cases making the kinks worse.

Is there a workflow/buttong I might be missing?
