Hello, I am trying to set up some some hair from editable splines. There is an UV for the mesh strip that I am using. The pivot points for the spline and the mesh strip are aligned, and are both set to world coordinates. Here is how the stack in 3ds Max 2015 looks like:
In Grounding Options I have set the Base Surface to the mesh strip.. . . and now the problem: When I press the "Ground Strands" button the spline turnes to a new position, relative to the mesh strip. Here is what I found out: If I do not set the degrees=0, size=100 and reset the Xform in the "Transform Toolbox" in 3ds Max, this will happen. Conclusion: Do not forget to reset the parameters in the "Transform Toolbox" in 3ds Max before the "Ground Strands" button is pressed. SteinarVA

Hello, Yes you are correct. Its good practice to reset Xfrom on these spline and mesh. Thanks Michael

Apparently the forum is dead. From the developers so no one answered the question for what reason the guides are twisted during movement of the object

If you post a scene I will have a look. It might be a setting or something with the mesh. Could be an issue that was fixed in V4 or something that has not been adressed yet. I will have a look. Thanks Michael |
