The service says that it's running, but I stopped and restarted it again anyway. I still get the pop ups. I enter my IP address and it doesn't work.

If the popup appears it means that it cannot connect to the license server or find appropriate license. Please user the manager app to see if you can connect through it: http://ephere.com/licensing/licenseserver/docs/1451.html Marsel Khadiyev (Software Developer, EPHERE Inc.)

I downloaded the License Manager and installed it. But it still doesn't work. Nothing shows up on it. When I create a sphere and apply an Ornatrix Hair Mod, it applies okay, but after clicking through the modifier stack a few times the "Please locate the License Server" notice pops up.Here is a screenshot of the situation I have.... Super frustrating! John Brophy Fine Art www.jbrophy.com

There is a connection problem between the license server and Ornatrix (and license manager). This could either mean that it isn't listening or that something is blocking it like a firewall or antivirus program. Can you please check the firewall? Also please do "netstat /a" in command line to see if the license server is listening on port 39373. Thank you Marsel Khadiyev (Software Developer, EPHERE Inc.)

Thanks, Marsel . I think I've got it working properly now. I had a trial and error tango with Norton ( Oh, how I hate it!) and found that turning off the stealth port blocking feature seemed to do the trick. I was able to do a full night's work without any connection issues. I will keep my eye on it, though.
Thanks for your help! :) John Brophy Fine Art www.jbrophy.com

Hi Marsel,
It's at it again. I ran the "netstat /a" command, but I don't see port 39373 anywhere. I made some screen shots of the command window, but I'm not sure I should be posting that data here for all to see. If I'm wrong and you need to see them, just let me know.
Thanks! John Brophy Fine Art www.jbrophy.com

P.S. I stopped and restarted the service and I now see port 39373 in the list. Under Foreign Address it says activate: 49659, and under State it says Time Wait. The License Manager is working and has 2 entries" ephere.plugins.autodesk.max.ornatrix,3 and ephere.plugins.autodesk.max.ornatrix. Nothing has ever shown up in the Current Sessions window and the End Session button has never been active. John Brophy Fine Art www.jbrophy.com

Hello, Thank you for your patience so far. Antivirus programs and firewalls are the two biggest reasons why the license manager would not be accessible typically and it seems to be the case on your computer. If you can connect from the license manager exe then Ornatrix should have no problem connecting to it either. Is that still the case for you (being able to connect from license manager and not from Ornatrix)? Please send me an email to marsel.khadiyev (at) ephere.com with any more info and screenshots. You can also find me on Skype (marsel.khadiyev) to be able to resolve the problem quicker. Please send me more details on the "push away from mesh" crash too, we treat crashes as #1 priority for fixes. Marsel Khadiyev (Software Developer, EPHERE Inc.)

Whenever I start the computer for a new Ornatrix session the License Manager will not see the license server. I click on Refresh and up pops the error message. But when I go to Services it looks like the license server is running in spite of this. I've found that if I stop and then restart the license server the License Manager will then connect properly and Ornatrix will work without interruption. But it seems that the license server stop and restart is necessary each time. Anyway, here are some screenshots from the netstat /a command...
As for the Push Away from Mesh crashes, there's not that much to tell. Sometimes it will crash Max and sometimes it won't. I don't know what the conditions are yet. If I figure something out I will let you know. John Brophy Fine Art www.jbrophy.com

For what it's worth, I abandoned Norton years ago. Lately I've used Comodo AV and just standard Windows Firewall. I'm even considering abandoning AV software altogether. Never had a virus anyway in two decades of using computers. Just sharing this info: Comodo is free and I've had no problems with it and the Ephere LS (actually, with any LS).

I hear you. I really hate how it's always in your face and deletes any file it doesn't recognize. My current subscription only has a month or two left and I will be getting a new computer before then. So I'm at the end of using Norton as well... otherwise known as the AOL of AV programs. ;) John Brophy Fine Art www.jbrophy.com
