Hi, We have a character that basically has a large quif on their head. I'd like to add just a little bounce to it, so it retains its shape but just has a little bit of secondary motion. However OX Dynamics with MassFX produces unrealistic results, as if it's underwater. I've followed your video on retaining shape but whilst the roots stay with the character the ends of the hairs try to stay where they are in world space, giving it that underwater look. I've pushed the settings like Density, Global Limit and Global Spring to extremes but still not getting usable results. Is there any quick way of doing what I need? We don't really have time to re model the hair as it would need doing for other characters as well. Thanks

Nevermind... found your video on using cloth and followed that workflow but used a flex modifier instead, seems to be working so far!

OK great. Was going to point you in that direction. Glad its working well for you. Flex is another good way to go. Here is the vid for others:

Hi Michael, I've met same problem as everyone said. Hair dansity or swing limit didn't work for long hair to keep style. But I realized when I set lower substep of MassFX like 1 or 3, I can't get anything but when I set higher value like 7 or 10, my hair style can be kept as you mention in this video. I wonder how many substep did you use in this video? Or did Ephere mentioned already somewhere in document? If so I want to know. thanks, Kei

Sub Steps will be very scene dependant. I dont remember what was used in the video but I think the video does show that tab. Thanks Michael |
