Hi, I would like to make polygons hair.
And I would like to down the number of my guides from shapes (from Zbrush FiberMesh). Is it possible ? Or a strand = a spline inevitably :( I tried to pull down "View count" from "Hair from Guides" but not working.
(See my setup in attachment) |
| You should be able to reduce the Hair From Guides count and get the result your looking for. You might need to do the render count too. If you post a scene I will have a look.
Thanks Michael |

| The issue here is your guides are not grounded. Use the Ground Strands modifer and ground your guides to a mesh before applying Hair from Guides. Right now no "hair" is getting created because of this. Have a look at this video for Guides from Spline workflow: Thanks Michael |
| Thanks Michael, I check that ! |
| Hi Michael, I try to add a Ground Strands, but the hair appear to be cut very short, how to fix this? (please see attached max file) |
| There are many hairs going through your scalp mesh. Your guides need to end at or close to the surface of the mesh for them to ground correctly. I would suggest using the mesh that you created these from in Zbrush maybe. Thanks Michael |
| I fix my problem, my pivot was wrong... :(
But I've a new problem : Ox Hair From Guides, make hair on all the scalp ... Please see attached file |
| Hello. Hair from Guides should make hairs on the entire scalp. If you do not want this you can limit it with a selection or a map. Thanks Michael |
| Hello ... hmm OK ..... but the goal is to keep the hairline from Zbrush Fibermesh. Not to create a new one with a map or selection :/ |
