Hello,

I have a question about driving propagated hair parameters by position along strand, is there a way to do this?

For exaple I want to create effect like this

https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/originals/28/81/de/2881dea976e3a8a5ddd5a85f99a8a9df.jpg

so I need to apply Frizz above the Propagation modifier, but how can I affect the propagated hairs by a gradient from root to tip?

this is just a example the process should be used to control clumps, color, etc...

Thanks a lot for any help

Hi,

Maybe using a Generate Guide Data Modifier and setting the generation method to Strand Lenght can give you the result you want. Please try that, in the meantime I will try to think in something else.

Hello, seems like you can easily do this with frizz. Just two things to be aware of:

  1. In Frizz operator set the group to the propagated strands group you're using
  2. Use the Frizz control curve to vary it along the propagate strand lengths

But this will affect all the propagated hairs not only at the root... like in the example image in first post.

The image I see in first post is just a feather. If you specify the strand group in frizz it'll only apply to strands with that group, which would be the propagated strands and not the stems.

I know but I need to control the Frizz on propagated srands by a gradient from root to tip of the main strand, not the propagated ones. Exactly like in the image. Maybe I dont understand your solution, can you provide a example file?

Thanks

I'm wondering how to better explain my problem...

Jeordanis Figuereo got it right but his solution don't work or I'm doing something wrong.

The main reason why I need all this is to beat Yetti which is usen on the same project in our company... its a little competition :)

Yes, I understand what you need, I think it might be possible but I haven't found a way to do it yet, I will let you know what I can find.
