Suggestions for randomising hair generation (Eyebrows)

Hi all,

I am experimenting a few ways to do some eyebrows for characters that will be procedrually generated, so I am trying to think of ways to mix up the eye brow generation.

I have also been experimenting with distribution maps a little.

Couple of questions

1. Any way to randomise the distribution even more when being distributed by material ID's?

2. What are some suggestions to soften the outline of the distribution on the materia ID's? The only way I can think of is by using a map.

Maybe I am going about it all the wrong way!

Any suggestions welcome!

Forgot to add pictures, is there a way to edit posts?

Hi,

1. You can use the Random Seed in HairFromGuides and GuidesFromSurface.

2. Indeed, Material ID and Selection will create a sharp edge for the hair line. I think distribution maps is the way to go here. I know you want to make it 100% procedural but you could use GuidesAsHair in HairFromGuides, this way you will have one hair strand for each guide, and you the Plant Guide tool in EditGuides to plant more manually. Eyebrows don't have a lot of strands and this method will give you more control and realism, but is not 100% procedural.

Great, thanks for that clarification, I'll play around with what you have suggested.

Much appreciated
