Ornatrix with vrayproxy

Hello everyone,

I did an curves animation in maya, and exported in alembic, to render in 3dsmax. I used the VRayProxy to import the abc, and it worked. But now how can I add the ornatrix modifiers in the stack? I mean, looks it was imported as a mesh and not a spline:

Hi,

VRay Proxies are rendered as hair, there you should find controls for the hair density and thickness. If you only exported the proxy from the animated curves, not hair, then you have to add the modifiers manually in 3ds Max. You can also export an Ornatrix Alembic instead, this will include all the modifiers and the final hairs (not the curves). Does that helps?

Hi Jeordanis, thanks  for the reply. The problem that I'm facing is I'm not able to apply a "ox Guides From Shape" modifier in the vrayProxy. It applies but when I do it, the splines disappears as the splines was a mesh and not a shape definitely.

My workflow is:

- Create the grooming and style in 3ds max.
- Export the curves in fbx to maya, rig the char and animate in the maya.
- Export back to 3dsmax. (the problem goes here). For the char I'm using point cache to ues maya animation data.
