Description: | I don't know if there is a possibility to make the OxStrandSymmetry modifier work without collapsing the Ornatrix Stack but my suggestion goes into another direction anyway. I would suggest to build in symmetry functionality into the OxEditGuides and OxSurfaceComb modifier directly, since those the only ones used to give the strands a specific direction. In case of the OxSurfaceComb it would mean, that sinks should be created on both sides of the mesh if symmetry is on. In case of the OxEditGuides it could be a little more tricky but maybe not impossible. it could imagine a smmetry recomb function where the edited strands are projected to the other side of the mesh as sort of virtual guides for the real strands. Than a recomb function could be executed the alignes the uncombed Strand to those virtual Guides. I hope this was somewhat understandable. On the other hand, since even the Freeform Tools in the Grapite Modelling Tollset in Max 2012 are able to handle symmertical modeling there should also be more elegantbut over my head solution for it. |
