Beggers can't be choosers... and let me just say, Autodesk have a lot to answer for. My workflow revolves heavily around the layering system for max. For too many years I have been using 3Dmax's retarded, poor excuse for a layering system. No need to sit around in the cold, rubbing damp sticks together in the hope to make fire. Finally, a plugin to bring 3Dmax into the 21st century!!!
This plugin looks awesome. I can't wait to try it out. Just a couple of questions... 1. when do you plan to release the plugin? 2. Do you have any ideas on what the plugin is likely to cost when it is released? .... or is 3Dmax actually going to show some initiative and integrate your plugin directly into max?
Great job. Your plugin looks great.

Hi 4754simon, Sorry for the delayed reply. Really happy to hear your impressions of ZK. To answer your questions:
That should happen towards the end of this month.
The current projected price is USD$199
At least not in the near future :) Thanks again!

Autodesk would be crazy to not notice Zookeeper! I would be shocked if they don't buy this and put it into max. Everyone knows that a node system, let alone usable layers, are so badly needed. What I don't understand is how Autodesk does not see this. Some of the bigger names in the 3ds Max community are consultants with Autodesk, and I'm sure are also beta Testers for Zookeeper. So are Autodesk just not listening to the community? Do we really need to rely on 3rd party plug-ins do do some of the most basic things in a modern 3d app. To me this is sad, and why I will support Zookeeper right out of the gate.

Couldn't agree more with what David wrote. This is something Autodesk should have prioritated a long long time ago. Now you guys go and do the job for them. I for one will buy this plug instantly. I really do hope that this will be implemented into Max as a new backbone. Again, thank you and one last question. How is the release date coming on? Any news on a date yet?

Hi Jonas, Thanks for your enthusiasm. I think that Zookeeper is a little bit of a step in a different direction than Autodesk were planning to take. But we will see what happens :) How is the release date coming on? Any news on a date yet? We're currently preparing more demonstration videos, docs, and the website. I am also still going through some bug fixes and optimizations. It might take another week or two just to get everything set up and then it'll be good to go!
