Hi Marsel,

Thanks for your yesterday e-mails, i'll be waiting 1.6.3 (Actually the palette is empty)

1. I'm really impressed by the speed of Zookeeper was trying the PJanseen outliner 2.0 and it's not as strong.

2.But The demo version is too much limited i'm actually searching a scene manager because the autodesk one become a nightmare after about 40 layers. And the demo version of zookeeper is limited to 20 nodes ... So i cannot test the power of zookeeper with my scene that contain 80-100 layers. If peoples cannot test it with real work condition why should they spend 249 dollars ? I think that the demo version must be unlimited during a 1 month period.

3.I was using your old scene manager and it's just the perfect tool for my needs. Zookeeper do maybe too much thing :-) I loved lot of things that were inside the scene manager but are not anymore inisde Zoo. Such as the Dock right or left features. With zoo i cannot select an objet and right click over a layer to add the selected object to the right-clicked layer. While it was possible with the scene manager. This is reallly helpfull when you got tons of layers and tons of objects.

4.If the scene manager was able to sort layer by name i think i'll be working everyday with it. But layer are sorted into a strange manner (maybe creation order).

5.If you do one day a light zookeeper version including juste the scene manager stuffs for approximatively 90 dollars i'll buy it for sure. 249 dollars is a bit expensive for features i'm not sure to use.

Hope i was helping you a bit. And hope a demo version with unlimited aspect of the tool will be available one day. To test the true robustess (power) of that tool.

Ps : Autodesk must buy your stuff and include it into max.

Hi Massimo,

Thank you very much for the feedback, it is much appreciated. The decision to limit functionality instead of producing a time-trial version was a taken after much delibiration. Time trials are good but they have weaknesses which are easily exploited by crackers. We feel that the limits currently imposed are sufficient to allow users to get a 'feel' of what Zookeeper can do. Your point of them not being enough to truly try and get experience with 1000's of objects is taken though.

The 'Add selected' layer option was somehow overlooked. I just put it on my TODO and will get it working for next build (1.6.3). I was planning to revising the docking functionality too, it has been on TODO for a while.

I understand that you are interested in tree views and scene management aspects of Zookeeper at this time and see the rest of it as un-needed right now. However, breaking Zookeeper up into multiple products would cause a lot of complexity and additional maintenance on my part. We feel like the whole package is well-balanced and features like schematic views and state sets complement the tree views. Also there will be more additions coming along in the near future which further tighten relationships between tree views and the rest of Zookeeper.

Thanks again for evaluating Zookeeper and I hope to have more feedback from you.
