Latest version is unavailable inside UE 5.3.1 after installation on windows 10

I had the demo version installed

then purchased the licence installed 1.0.6.33xx for UE 5.2.1 ,

As I faced many issues and crashes on that. I have uninstalled 1.0.6.33X , and  installed 1.0.7.33x for latest version of UE 5.3.1 

after installation, when I try to enable the plugin,  I cant find anything installed plugins inside UE 5.3.1.

I am on Windows 10 Pro for Workstation.

If you encounter any crashes - please provide a log and steps to reproduce that crash. Or even record a video, but please, more qualitative. For example with the same Bandicam. Mostly it can be just on your side and we will deal with it.

About installing 1.0.7.33x for UE 5.3.1 - maybe your engine is not installed in the default path, then you just need to go to the folder C:\Program Files\Ephere\UE_5.3 and copy all the contents to the folder where the engine is installed.

I just tested it myself. Everything works.

 

I also don't understand why you don't install the latest version on UE 5.2.1? The latest is 1.0.7.3.3 too

This could be a licensing issue. Find the file OrnatrixUELicenseServerIP.txt in %LOCALAPPDATA%, or create it if it doesn't exist. Open it in a text editor, add the line "localhost" and save it.

Launch Ornatrix again and it should work. 

Also, when installing Ornatrix, make sure to close UE before launching the Ornatrix installer.

Thanks @Charlyxx and @Jeordanis, I was just giving it a try as I thought felt the issues I was facing were down to the version of UE and Orantrix. After your help on my other query Orantrix on UE 5.2 seems to be working just fine. However I will test and let you know If the speciic issue I was facing on 5.3 is resolved with these steps. I may eventually have to upgrade to 5.3 anyway. Thanks again for both of you for the excellent support. 

@Charlyxx and @Jeordanis, thanks I have tried using the The latest is 1.0.7.3.3 too on UE 5.2.1 as suggested. Still the crashes have not gone away. I have updated the NVIDIA driver to latest version as recommened in another post, no luck. I have shared the crash report on Dischord and here is a copy. Please help.

Started testing on 5.2.1 + Ornatrix 1.0.7.33x.

Recorded you a video of my test


Timing:

0:00 - Dragging the test mesh into the scene. I move it to the zero coordinate system.

0:11 - Selecting Ornatrix. All is well. No crash.

0:19 - Testing Create Brush to quickly create hair.

0:25 - Testing Comb Brush to comb them.

0:40 - I tested on the same version of UE+OX as you wrote in the ticket.


Most likely JEordanis will have to run tests on his end and analyze your logs. Because I can't help you here. As you can see, everything is fine on my end. Maybe we still need to test your UE project completely.

@Charlyxx thanks, we had two versions of UE installed for testing , 5.2.1 and 5.3.1 after uninstalling one of them (5.3.1) crashing issue has dramatically reduced. Waiting to hear from JEordanis if he can point to any root cause for this issue. So that we can be sure crash wont resurface again, permanently. 

Havent heard from JEordanis yet. We have done little more testing into the crash issue, these issues surface when we edit the metahuman hair using orantrix and for some reason decide to re-import the metahuman from the MHC. If we delete the metahuman folder in content browser then import the MH fresh into the project. The project and UE is much more stable. Re importing and working on MH in UE again is leading us to the crash issues.

Very strange. Try typing t.maxfps 60 in console and read what Epic writes here before you start working with the project. Maybe that's another reason for crashes on your side. But of course it is better to send all logs to Jeordanis to analyze them with the team. You can find out the exact cause by looking at all the logs of the crash.
