Category:Other
Status:Confirmed

Problem

Description:

As your see in the video the Animation cache is not applying channel data from Moov Physics.  There seems to be an inconsistency between the stiffness settings in real time and what is seen in the Animation cache.

V2.3.8.31396

Steps to Reproduce:

Select Edit Guides

Add Moov Physics

Apply settings and any channel data

Add animation Cache and record it

Dissable Moov Physics, play back animation cache.

Result.  Hair drapes, ignores channels applied

The problem has been tested and found in R25 AND R26, in 2023 it works fine.

Hi,

I can reproduce the issue with the channels(Mass Channel only. the rest works fine) and the issue with Animation Cache, but I can't reproduce the issue with Hair from Guides. The hair seems to be following the simulation just fine when adding a channel to some parameters like Stretching stiffness, Bending Stiffness and Attract to Initial Shape. Try with the latest nightly build and let me know how it goes.

The team will be looking into the other two issues. Thank you for your report.

The latest build nightly does the same thing.  Also as shown the brushes fail to work after.  I tried this on two computers.  Thanks,

Hello,

The problem with the Mass and the channel is not a bug actually. I have been informed that Mass only affects response to external force fields, which we don't support in C4D because C4D doesn't expose that part of their API to plugin developers. As an alternative we provide the HairSimulatorWind script to help users simulate Wind forces(just Wind for now).

The issue with Hair from Guides is still not reproducible in the provided scene. A solution for the problem with the Animation Cache is still in the works.
