Problem

Description:

If you use gravity tag, you can render C4D standart renderer but not physical render.

Steps to Reproduce:

1) create hair on an object

2) Cinema rendersettings -> change from standart to physical.

3) render to viewport or picture viewver, all fine

4) add a gravity tag on hair and render again - no hair render anymore.

5) switch rendersettings to standart again - it renders ...

Hello, I get an error when i try and render with physical , same hair object with one set to standard and the other set to physical. In the physical render the hairs change drastically.

1) create hair on an object

2) Cinema rendersettings -> change from standard to physical.

UPDATE: User error on the hair count being different, I needed to check the Use Render Count option.

I am running into the issue, when selecting any tag and trying to render the hair is no longer there. If i deselect the tag it renders fine.

To recreate

1) add furball to any object

2) add ornatrix tag

3) select tag in object manager    (when highlighted no hair)

4) render in Physical

5) deselect tag (renders fine)

hope this helps..

Hi,

I can reproduce it, with just Guides From Mesh and Hair From Guides tag.

On Physical Render, I can render either viewport strands (when nothing's selected) or no strands (tag is selected), but never the full hair count.

Will investigate...

Fixed all but one case (the strangest one, if a tag is selected no hair is rendered on the viewport).

Ok thanks, had a busy last few days. I will be sure to do some more testng soon.

Quick work around for no hair in render when tag is selected:

1) when editing the tags, select desired tag to work on.

2) Hair will disapear

3) lock the attribute menu and then deslect the tag

4) you will still be able to work on the tag without it being selected.

5) hair apears in the viewport, now you can render/edit.

Hope this helps

this problem was related to the old tags workflow, which were replaced by modifiers. closing.
