First, hello everybody, I'm new here. I am trying out Ornatrix with Redshift, with the intent of figuring out some feathers. So far there are 2 options I am aware of: - using Ornatrix built-in Mesh from strands (Ribbon) I can control profile shape but UV mapping is set to original mesh, no per strand UVs (so to map a texture/ alpha cutout) - baking down curves from strands and using Redshift Object > Splines as Strips: I can control profile shape and UV mapping is set to strip space (I can use textures and cutouts) but ofcourse I loose editability. I've been watching the introductory series of Ornatrix for Max but it appears the Mesh from Strands operator is missing some features in C4D. I like Ornatrix so far, although it lacks a bunch of controls available in C4D default Hair/Feather object, it feels way more snappier in viewport and has nice parametric shaping (surface comb with sinks is great!)

Hello Jeordanis,
is there any update on this? I ran into a similar issue lately. I wanted to use multiple map channels like shown here: https://vimeo.com/170966784 but found no solution.

Thanks for coming back at this. I'm going to create a new thread tomorrow since the issue I am facing is not entirely related to this topic. |
