Hello!

I'd love to see some examples of Ornatrix used to make short/long pile rugs, low clumped wools, felts, and other related fabrics. Currently I use displacement maps or native hair but the results are weak and i'd like a better solution. Hoping this is it. If you have anything related I'd love to see it. Yes, I have seen the sheep wool tutorial on Youtube.

Also if anyone could comment on if Ornatrix is faster in the viewport or to render in Redshift I'd be all ears.

Hello,

We have a tutorial about the Curl operator, there we use Frizz operator as well. The tutorial is not about fabric but the shows the principles of those two modifiers which can be used to create rugs.

I'm not sure if I understand your question about rendering... Do you mean, rendering directly in the viewport, or just the pre-visualization of hair in the viewport? In any case, visuailzation in the viewport is faster because it doesn't have to run the same process as a full realistic render.

I find with a simple rug of 500,000 hairs, updating the setup takes a good 3-5 seconds. This is with just showing hair guides in the viewport. Does Ornatrix also get bogged down the more hairs you use? I'd assume so but maybe it's less than the native hair.
