I've made a black and white map to act as a distribution map for a mustache, but whenever I place it into the distribution map on my hair, it is extremely inconsistent in where hair grows. With the right seed, I can get it to vaguely be in the right spot. But then I switch seeds and then the whole face is covered. Is there some setting I'm missing here? Shouldn't the hair just be confined to where the map says?
Through experimentation, it seems like increasing the guide count helps a lot. I guess I wasn't sure if I should increase the number so high. 100,000 seems to do the trick.
Sounds like a bug. Regardless of the guide count, it should only grow on the white areas of the map. Please send me a simplified version of the scene for debugging.
