Different hair counts on individual mesh strips

Is there a way to have different hair counts per strip on a mesh strip wig?

If I select a mesh strip and adjust the count, the hair disappears and I can't get it back

Actually it doesn't disappear. The wig becomes huge and moves into z and rotates.

How are you chaging the hair count? Are you using Ground Strands?

Ok thanks. Turning off ground strands fixed it. Sorry to be bugging with these little problems. I haven't used Ornatrix for a long time and I'm getting re-acquainted with it.

You don't need to disable Ground Strands. When changing the hair count the roots need to be regrounded. You just need to Detach/Reattach the roots in Ground Strands.

Actually, that's what I meant. I detched and reattached.

Is it a good practice to detach roots whenever I need to modify something? I'm finding that the hair will do weird things if I don't. Sometimes the width becomes really thick and I have to set "change width" to a really low value to get the hairs thin enough.

You only need to reground the roots when the strands topology changers(when changing hair count for example). Strand Width should not be affected. Please show me an example.

I'm finding that the clump operator causes most the problems. I'll save the scene and when I re=open it, the hair is all messed up. If I delete clumps and save the scene, it re-opens the same way I left it.

Is there a perfect order to put the operators in the stack? There's lots of times I have to rebuild my Ornatrix hair because doing some things will cause the hair to go haywire, whether its the width getting huge, or the frizz values changing..and the value itself doesn't change, but the way its interpreted changes.

In the pic I attached, is that the correct way to stack the operators?

The order or modifiers is OK and I don't think is related to the issues that you are describing. Please describe the steps to reproduce this and/or provide a simple scene where I can reproduce it.
