I want to make selections of hairs and apply clumpis to each selected area. When I do this C4d crashes. Is there another way?

Hi, This only happens with Hair from Mesh Strips? IIRC the Clumper requires a distribution mesh to generate clumps, it should not crash though. You just need to ground the strips to a distribution mesh using Ground Strands. The process is shown here. Reagading the crash, please try to make it crash again and send us the crash log generated by C4D.

Thanks, I grounded the strands but clumping is still a problem. If I just generate the clumps, the ends cross from one side to another. I can't make groups with mesh strip hair, so there's no way to set a group to clump, so I can keep a set of clumps localized to one area of the hair.
Before I ground the strands, Iwas able to use the hair select tool in the clump panel but that is what crashed cinema 4d.
