I converted a polygonal hair model of a Gibson Girl hairstyle made of mesh strips into Ornatrix hair using the hair from mesh strips and grounded the main hair body and the bun hair into their respective skullcap meshes but the resulting hair shoots out in different directions instead of conforming to their mesh strips. I've checked my settings a million times but can't find anything unusual. I am using the 2023 version of Cinema 4D and the latest version of Ornatrix C4D that just got released. Attached is the problematic C4D file and a screenshot.
