Hello Jeordanis.

I use Ornatrix since a while now, and even if I read the documentation several times, I still have difficulies to make clumps working correctly.

My main and recurring problem is, how to limit the clumps to the nearest hairs and prevent them to reach hairs which are at the other side of the world.

In my experiencen only the "Clumps From Guides" does the job successfuly, but the number of guide often not correspond to the number of clumps we want.
"Clump From external Clump Strands", works most of the time, but also lead to hairs travelling to far.
"Random mode" work only if we create a channel to separate the right and the left hairs of a head and don't prevent hairs to reach too far hairs.
And "Group mode" isn't really more efficient.

To illustrate this, I have made this simple scene where I use a perfectly sharp box noise to generate a lot of different groups using "Strand Data" node.
I set the clumps mode in "Strand Group", checked "Preserve Lenght" and "Attract to Closest Stem" and I was expecting to obtain one perfect clump for each group.

But as you can see in the attach video, even like this, it does'nt work.

Is there something I missed ?

Send me your test scene and I will l into it.

Thanks Jeordanis;

On this test I used groups to reproduce my difficulties on a simple plane;

But I often have the same with other mode on more comple geometries (except clump from guides that work perfectly).

I also use groups becaus on my final hair comb, I would like to create rebel strand of hairs by using a clamp sharp noise to create one extra group; I was thinking to push the affected hairs with a frizz acting only in this group and clump them then.

The frizz part work perfectly if if create a group /or a channel from this noise, but the clump part doesn't.

Even if the result of the strand data give me twice the same group at 2 different sides of the plane, "Attract to closest Stem" and "Preserve lenght" should prevent clumps to reach so far points.

On the second scen, i tested it on a head and as you can see, even with a channel to separate le right and the left of the hairs, it give me bugs of crossing that I always have with clumps.
